Let me explain.<\/p>\n
I played the Titanfall Beta on Xbox One, I really enjoyed it but it set to me thinking about what platform I wanted to play the game on when it gets released. I have a decent spec. PC and an Xbox One but I can’t decide which one I want to play Titanfall on when it releases, there are pros and cons to both.<\/p>\n
PC Master Race.<\/p>\n
I have a good PC and I enjoy playing games on it for a few reasons. The main one being graphical fidelity, the resolution side of the argument. The other main reason is that it’s really easy to record gameplay footage and commentary on PC, see my previous ranty post about my Roxio game capture card.<\/p>\n
Xbox One Next Gen (should that be current gen now).<\/p>\n
There aren’t many games available for the new consoles yet, Titanfall is one of the reasons I bought a next gen console and so it seems wasteful not to buy the game for Xbox One. The other thing about consoles I enjoy is crashing on the sofa throwing a game on and just relaxing and playing. I’m one of those odd people who actually likes playing FPS games using a controller so the PC doesn’t get any advantage for a mouse and keyboard. The comfort side of the argument.<\/p>\n
So I’m torn between the two choices and I was wondering what I could do to help me decide between them. I decided that I should compare an FPS that I enjoyed on console with the same game on PC. As luck would have it Ubisoft was having a Steam sale and so I picked up Far Cry 3 for a song. It’s a fantastic game and one I played to death on Xbox 360. I’ve played about three hours on PC now, mostly hunting and dealing with outposts and I have to say that it’s just as much fun on PC.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately it hasn’t really helped me answer the resolution versus comfort question. What I have discovered is that a good game is good regardless of what platform you play it on. <\/p>\n
